2010 Klickitat County Fair and Rodeo Program

Monday, July 12, 2010

  • All camping Reservations must be postmarked by July 12th. DO NOT SEND MONEY – FEES WILL BE COLLECTED WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE FAIRGROUNDS. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY AUGUST 9th AS TO WHAT SPACE YOU HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED.

  • All Booth, Livestock, Horse, Western Games entries, including stall fees and entry fees must be postmarked by JULY 29th. Fair office will be open from Noon to 8:00 p.m.

  • All Ranch Sorting entries must be postmarked by August 3rd.

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

  • All 4-H Record Books, 4-H Educational Displays/Posters, FFA Record Books, and FFA Educational Displays/Posters with completed entry form are to be brought to the 4-H Department at the Fairgrounds between Noon and 7:00 p.m.

  • All baled Hay King entries must arrive at the Fairgrounds between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. with a complete entry form and a fee of $5.00 per bale. Core samples will be taken at this time.

  • All County Team Roping entries must be postmarked by August 14th.

  • Noon to 6:00 p.m. – Campers will be allowed to park in the camping area.

  • Noon to 8:00 p.m. – All STILL LIFE EXHIBITS must be entered and placed in the Still Life Building. (Open Adult, Open Youth, 4-H and FFA.) GRAIN KING ENTRIES included.
  • 4:00 p.m. – All HORSE ENTRIES arrive. REQUIRED VET CHECK FOR ALL HORSES – No horses in stall without Vet Check. All Exhibitors are required to stall for the duration of the fair. ONLY LEAD-LINE EXHIBITORS MAY HAUL IN.
  • 7:00 p.m. – MANDATORY horse exhibitors meeting
  • 8:00 p.m. – All booths must be complete.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

  • 8:00 a.m. – Fair Office open
  • 8:00 a.m. – HORSE CLASSES BEGIN: PeeWees, followed by Novice, Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Adult. SHOWMANDHSIP (mandatory for all Exhibitors), 4-H Showmanship Championship class followed by Halter classes. (All Grand and Reserve Champions will return for Championship.) We will stop classes at NOON to run Lead-Line, take a Lunch break and resume with Lead-in Costume, followed by remaining above classes, Bareback Equitation, Working Pairs and Ranch Horse Pleasure.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Exhibit Building Judges Meeting
  • 9:30 a.m. – JUDGING BEGINS IN THE STILL LIFE BUILDING. BUILDING WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC DURING JUDGING.
  • Noon – Market Stock Sale Beef (ONLY) may be unloaded, vet checked and stalled. No animals will be weighed until 4:00 p.m.
  • 4:00 p.m. – Miniature Horses check in – Must be vet checked before stalling.
  • lamb showman4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – All livestock to be unloaded, vet checked and weighed. No animals allowed in the barns until 4:00 p.m. except Market Stock Sale Beef.
  • 6:00 p.m. – Fair and Rodeo Queen Tryout Horsemanship in the arena.
  • 7:00 p.m. – Fair and Rodeo Queen Tryout Speeches on Reno’s Stage.
  • 7:30 p.m. – Goat Exhibitors Meeting in the Multi-purpose Building
  • 8:15 p.m. - Livestock Exhibitors Meeting in in the Multi-purpose Building.
  • 8:30 p.m. – Poultry and Rabbit Exhibitors Meeting in the Poultry/Rabbit Building
  • 10:00 p.m. – Curfew – All animals should be checked and all barns cleared of exhibitors.

  • 8:30 a.m. – PeeWee, Novice, Junior Non-Dairy Goat Showmanship
  • 8:30 a.m. – Adult Novice Non-Dairy Goat Judging
  • 8:30 a.m. - Swine Exhibitors Meeting in the Multi-purpose Building
  • 8:30 a.m. – Judge 4-H and FFA Market Swine – Breeding and Open Classes to follow.

  • 8:30 a.m. – Adult Dairy Goat Judging
  • 8:30 a.m. – PeeWee, Novice and Junior Dairy Goat Showmanship begins
  • 9:00 a.m. – Sheep Showmanship begins
  • 9:00 a.m. – Swine Showmanship begins
  • 9:00 a.m. - Beef Showmanship begins
  • 9:00 a.m. - Rabbit Showmanship begins followed by Conformation classes. EXHIBITORS MUST BE PRESENT DURING JUDGING
  • 9:00 a.m. – Poultry Showmanship begins followed by Conformation classes. EXHIBITORS MUST BE PRESENT DURING JUDGING
  • 9:00 A.M. – miniature Horse classes begin follow by Driving Equine classes

  • 11:00 a.m. GROUNDS ENTERTAINMENT BEGINS
  • NOON – Judge 4-H and FFA Dairy Cattle – Open classes to follow
  • 1:00 p.m. ALL-AROUND SHOWMANDSHIP CONTEST (Beef, Dairy Cattle, Dairy Goats, Meat Goats, Sheep, Swine and Horses.)
  • 3:00 p.m. TEAM PENNING AND BRANDING EVENTS BEGIN – FOLLOWED BY RANCH SORTING. Western Games Awards will be presented between Team Penning and Branding events.
  • 8:00 p.m. – Still Life Building closes
  • 10:00 p.m.CURFEW – ALL ANIMALS SHOULD BE CHECKED AND ALL BARNS CLEARED OF EXHIBITORS.

  • 8:00 a.m. – Goat Calling Contest
  • 8:30 a.m. – COUNTY TEAM ROPING – FINALS TO FOLLOW
  • 9:00 a.m. – Still Life Building opens
  • 9:00 a.m. – PARADE PARTICIPANTS ASSEMBLE AT THE GOLDENDALE PRIMARY SCHOOL
  • 9:00 a.m. – Sheep Costume class
  • 10:00 a.m.DOWNTOWN PARADE STARTS
  • 11:00 a.m. GROUNDS ENTERTAINMENT BEGINS
  • 11:30 a.m. – Goat Calling Contest
  • 11:45 a.m. – PARADE OF CHAMPIONS
  • 12:15 p.m. – Grain Growers Award presented
  • 12:30 p.m. – RODEO starts
  • 1:00 p.m. – Costume Class for Dogs followed by Agility Classes

  • 9:00 a.m. MANDATORY HORSE EXHIBITORS MEETING IN THEE MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING
  • 10:00 a.m. – Dog Agility
  • 10:30 a.m. – GROUNDS ENTERTAINMENT BEGINS
  • 12:15 p.m. – LIVESTOCK PARADE
  • 1:00 p.m. – State Fair Sign-up – 4-H Department
  • 1:00 p.m. – RODEO starts
  • 1:30 p.m. – Goat Obstacle / Agility Contest
  • 4:00 p.m. – Market Beef Ultra-sound Results – Reno’s stage
  • 4:00 p.m. – Livestock Barns Close for removal of animals
  • 4:00 p.m. – Still Life Building closes for take down of exhibits – will reopen at 5:00 p.m. for pick-up of exhibits.
  • 5:00 p.m. ALL EXHIBITS WILL BE RELEASED
